A message from the Chairman and Committee of Scarborough Athletic Club

Dear Members

Due to the unprecedented events of these last few months Scarborough Athletic Club held off asking you to renew your memberships on April 1st.

The committee have all been in touch recently and worked out a way forward for this year.

As a club overall the fees have been significantly reduced this year and SAC are happy to absorb the additional costs we incur throughout the year. These are the subsidised buses, presentation and award evenings, certain athletic association fees, sports hall hire, coach and run leader training and our fees to the Rugby Club and South Cliff Bowling Club. We have also unfortunately lost our revenue from the Yorkshire Coast McCain 10k run this year.

There will be a number of options which will include covering the fee for your EA/UKA membership, which has been reduced slightly this year, and covering this fee plus a small amount towards the other fees and costs the club pays. These reductions cover senior and junior athletes. The second claim membership and social membership fees will stay the same as last year. We will also be able to look at family memberships as these will not be covered on the membership portal.

We fully understand that this may be a difficult time financially for some people so we have decided that should we have any members wishing to re-join or any new members that require some help then the club will be able to assist. Please contact us in confidence and we will make sure you are at least registered with England Athletics.

The committee and I look forward to welcoming you all back as members and back to our club nights, meetings and events as soon as possible.

Many Thanks and Best Regards,
David Field - Chairman, and Committee - Scarborough Athletic Club.
